The Concept of Portrait (in the context of Indian miniature painting)

Gwaliar was a big state of Scindias. It is a place of great historical significance. Between 12th to 15th Century the Jain texts were illustrated. In the medieval period the tradition of painting of this region was influenced with Amer and the Mughal. Nand Gwaliari was an artist from Gwaliar who served in the Court of Akbar. The tradition continued in the later medieval period also.
